Spa Troubleshooting Guide
Cloudy, Dull Water - Cloudy, Green Water - Clear, Green Water - Reddish Brown Water - Chalky, White Scale Deposits - Skin-Eye Irritation - Odor - Scum Build-Up - Excessive Foaming
Cloudy, Dull Water
| POSSIBLE CAUSE |
SOLUTION |
| Build-up of unfilterable material |
Use Spa Bright & Clear or if using ozone, use Spa Scum Gon. |

| Excessive organic contaminants or lack of sanitizer |
Shock treat with Renew or OZ Tabs. Check and adjust sanitizer level. |

| pH and total alkalinity out of balance |
Test water and adjust pH and total alkalinity levels as necessary using Spa Up or Spa Down. |
|
| Dirty filter |
Use Spa Cartridge Filter Clean on a monthly basis. |
|
| Calcium too high |
Use Spa Defender on a weekly basis. |

Use Spa Alkalinity Increaser. |

| Low sanitizer level |
Shock treat with Renew or OZ Tabs. Check and adjust sanitizer level. |

| Dissolved copper or iron in spa water |
Add Spa Metal Gon to sequester minerals in the water. Check pH. |

Reddish Brown Water

| Iron or manganese dissolved in water |
Add Spa Metal Gon to sequester minerals in the water. Check pH. |

Chalky, White Scale Deposits

| High mineral content in water |
Use Spa Defender on a weekly basis. Check water balance and adjust as necessary. |

Skin-Eye Irritation

SOLUTION |
| Combined chlorine level is too high or excessive organic contaminants in spa water |
Shock treat with Renew or OZ Tabs. Check and adjust sanitizer level. |

Add Calcium Booster to obtain 150-400 ppm calcium level in water. |
